Revitalizing downtown

Downtown North Platte is getting a facelift! In the first few months of 2018, the city will be working to the remove the overhead awnings that line two blocks of Dewey Street downtown.

This construction is just one of the first steps in a larger revitalization effort for downtown North Platte. Funding from both city and state sources will not only finance the removal of the existing awnings, but also create a matching grant program to help improve building façades. This project will enhance the overall look and visibility of our downtown businesses, as well as improving safety, accessibility, and the structural integrity of our historic buildings.

IT'S ALWAYS EASY TO PARK & SHOP!

Four large, open lots (colored orange on the map) provide free, unrestricted public parking in the heart of downtown. Most of the businesses in the central downtown area are located within a few seconds' walk to these free parking areas. While some streetside spaces may be briefly unavailable during construction, these free parking lots are always accessible.
